AT&T Pennsylvania: AT&T’s Schweder applauds Gov. Rendell for signing VoIP legislation.
Capitolwire -
Harrisburg, Pa. (July 7, 2008)—AT&T Pennsylvania President J. Michael Schweder today applauded Gov. Ed Rendell for signing into law SB 1000 - a bill that promotes innovation and competition in Pennsylvania by keeping Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) service free of state regulation.
“This new law promotes competition by giving Pennsylvanians even more choices for phone service. And, it is another tool to help spur increased demand for broadband services across the Commonwealth,” Schweder said. “We applaud Gov. Rendell for supporting competition and innovation in Pennsylvania.”
Schweder also thanked state Sen. Rob Wonderling, the sponsor of SB 1000, for his efforts to see this bill become law.
“Getting this bill to the Governor’s desk was a long road, and Sen. Wonderling was there every step of the way,” Schweder said. “Thanks to his efforts - and those of the others who supported this legislation - Pennsylvania remains a leader in technology.”
